Central Texas Grassroots Cycling was created to foster activity through cycling. We’ve been riding and racing our bikes for years and not only do we know how great a form of exercise it is, but we also know that it’s simply a lot of fun and that great friends can be formed in the process. Our mission is to spread our love of cycling throughout Central Texas by working with local businesses, non-profits and schools to spread cycling awareness, education and enjoyment.
Currently we are running the Dirt Derby, which runs from September 7th until December 14th.
We are also co-promoting AlphaCross alongside Pirate Race Productions on December 11th at Lake Pflugerville.
Keep an eye on this page as we plan more events
Central Texas Grassroots Cycling was formed in the summer of 2009. In that year, we took over our marquee event, The Dirt Derby, in the fall and put on a successful, if rain-shortened series. Despite the weather, we saw a greater turnout than previous years and a large interest from sponsors and media. In the spring of 2010 we created Anaerobic Annihilation at the same venue and offered our races at longer lengths in a series suited more towards the racer in training. We are bringing back the Dirt Derby in the fall of 2010 and will be hosting a cyclocross race in early December. As well, we looking at events which will occur in the spring of 2011 and beyond, and we hope that you’ll keep up with us as we promote these events and others yet to be named.
